Our Family Story
By John Kostoff, Founder, Master Electrician
When my wife Mary and I moved from Buffalo, New York to Colorado in 1979, we came with a dream: to build a life, raise our family, and create something of our own. Starting a business from scratch wasn’t easy — there were long days, late nights, and more than a few challenges along the way. But with ambition, faith, and hard work, Tru-Craft Electric was born.
From the very beginning, I focused on doing things the right way — quality work, fair prices, treating every customer like a neighbor, and most importantly, honesty with my customers. Over time, that built a loyal community of repeat customers who kept calling us back and sending their friends. Over 45 years later, that tradition is still what drives us.
Today, my two sons, Peter (Master Electrician) and Tim (soon-to-be journeyman), carry on our family’s legacy. Mary keeps the heart of the business beating strong as the accountant and bookkeeper, making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
When the Marshall Fire devastated Louisville and Superior, we didn’t think twice — we got to work. We offered free inspections, helped families safely restore power, and did whatever we could to bring comfort back to our neighbors.
At Tru-Craft, we believe that honest work and genuine care build more than a business — they build a community and a family. Whether you need a simple repair, a new custom home wired, or an upgrade for your commercial space, we show up on time, do the job right, and leave you feeling safe, cared for, and part of our electrical family.
Because when you call Tru-Craft, you’re not just getting electricians — you’re getting a family that truly loves their trade, this community, and is honored to keep it running strong.
My family looks forward to serving you.
